Bikram Yoga is a 90 minute series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. The room is heated to a minimum of 105ºF to help warm muscles, flush toxins and increase circulation. Bikram Yoga systematically moves fresh, oxygenated blood to every cell, working the muscles, bones, tendons, joints, ligaments, and glands in the proper sequence. These postures work synergistically and cumulatively to bring the mind, body and spirit to optimal health.
Bikram Yoga has been known to prevent and heal a wide range of diseases, illnesses, and injuries. It has a rejuvenating, energizing effect both mentally and physically. The series of postures is highly therapeutic for people of all fitness levels and ages (min 18 years old). In fact, people who have sustained injuries, fallen out of shape or have a wide range of medical problems are the first to experience the amazing benefits!
Samantha is an avid practitioner of Bikram Yoga and strongly believes in the teachings and lineage of this yoga. She graduated from Bikram’s Teacher Training in Fall 2006 and built Bikram Yoga Mile High in May 2008.
Samantha began her journey in natural health therapies as a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist. Samantha has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University and is a Graduate and former Instructor at Rising Spirit Institute of Natural Health. She specializes in Neuromuscular Therapy which focuses on rehabilitation of soft tissue pain and dysfunction. Samantha has worked with numerous Professional Athletes, World Champions, and Musicians providing Massage, Yoga and Health consulting.
Her interest in the human body and spirit stems from a background of various sports and experiences. Samantha has competed in numerous sports, been in national commercials for the Sports Authority, and backpacked extensively. She has over 1000 skydives and ground launches of parachutes and has traveled to over 15 countries in six continents including Nepal, South Africa, Chile, Australia, Norway, Israel and more. Samantha uses her knowledge and experience in healthy living, nutrition, exercise, sports training and positive thinking to help others maximize their health and healing. Bikram Yoga has helped Samantha find balance and wholeness in her life and that is what drives her to share this amazing yoga with others.
Geordie is our most beloved yogi. He is responsible for bringing smiles and positive energy to the school. Geordie teaches everyone to enjoy life in the present moment. G enjoys yoga, hiking, burying bones and chasing squirrels. He likes to play tug of war and entertain yogis with his tricks. He thinks bliss is endless belly rubs and coconut water. Geordie loves the Bikram Yoga life!
