| Why the heated room? |
| Bikram Yoga is intentionally performed in a room heated to a minimum of 105ºF. This allows the body to warm up, making muscles more elastic and less susceptible to injury. The heat aids the body in burning fact more easily and speeds up the breakdown of glucose on fatty acids. Vasodilation and sweating during class aids the removal of waste products and allows the body to rid itself of deeply stored toxins. The unique sequence of postures combined with heat is what makes Bikram Yoga so special. |
